Murder charge laid in case of dismembered man

Ontario Provincial Police have charged a person with first-degree murder in a 12year-long investigation into the death of an Ontario man.

It’s the second arrest tied to the killing of Morris Conte, 45, from Bolton, whose dismembered body was found in three different areas of central Ontario shortly after he was reported missing in May 2010.

Police in Orillia say a 62-year-old from Woodbridge, Ont., has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

OPP gave no details on what led them to the suspect, citing the ongoing investigation.

Police say a $50,000 reward continues to be offered for information leading to the conviction of those responsible.

Police charged a man in July 2011 with accessory after the fact to murder and causing an indignity to a human body. However, they say those charges have since been dropped.
