‘The Truth About Christmas’ a musical tale of holiday love

Peterborough musician Kenny DesChamp is releasing a 2022 Christmas song on Saturday with the message that “love is the universal gift that lasts.”

“The Truth About Christmas” was co-written and co-produced by DesChamp and Cyril Rawson, a songwriter and producer who divides his time between Peterborough and Nashville.

It was recorded at the Melvyn Kay Sound Studio in Peterborough and then mixed and mastered at Haggerty Sound Studio in Peterborough.

DesChamp is on vocals and MIDI programming, Rawson is on electric and acoustic guitars, Bob Steele is on piano, celeste and MIDI programming. Liberty Silver, a Mississauga singer who grew up in Peterborough, joins Peterborough’s Danny Bronson on chorus vocals.

The song is being released with a YouTube video made by Kevan Smith.

A graduate of the Faculty of Music at Queen’s University in Kingston, DesChamp has been in the music industry for 48 years as a performer, composer and teacher.
