U13 AAA Wolves get into the spirit of giving

Led by a group of Peterborough coaches and players, the Central Ontario Wolves U13 AAA hockey team is doing its part to spread Christmas cheer. On Tuesday, coinciding with Giving Tuesday, the U13 Wolves and their coaches met as a team to shop for gifts to make a few families’ Christmas a little bit more magical this year. The team sponsored a family of a mother, father and two 14-year-old boys as well as a teen girl and a teen boy for the holidays. They were tasked with donating their own money, decid- ing what needed to be purchased for each person and then actually shopping for the items. Together they raised almost $1,350. “The boys did an excellent job in picking out the items. They learned the joy of helping others and that the true spirit of Christmas is all about giv- ing, not receiving,” wrote one of the team parents. “We are so proud of this group of boys and so grateful that the Wolves are able to spread some Christmas cheer and support those who need it the most. Thanks to the coaches and mothers who helped pull all of this together.”
